Classic French

Hello beauties!
Here are some tips about one of the techniques for a french manicure i want to share with you.
French manicure makes nails look elegant and classy. But there is always a problem to make it even.
This technique i saw in one of the salones here in Brazil. I was really surprised, but it's actually works!
1. Prepare your nails and and apply a thin base coat

2. Put white polish on your thumb
3. Put your finger on the thumb and curve it until the polish is applied on your nail!

4. Clean all excess
5. Put polish on top to cover. You can apply transparant polish, i prefer to make it whiter

And we are done! Very easy and fast!
Hope you liked it:)

Moda de praia #2

Wearing Marisa shirt, Replay shorts (cut from jeans) Persol sunglasses; hat bought in some store in Rio.   I like mixing up basic cheaper brands with a few more expensive items to complete the outfit.

Comfy white shirt and hat are universal things for the beach.  These earrings are from Greece. I use them all the time i go to the beach because they are light, go with every bathing suit, and silver doesn't deteriorate on contact with water.

Moda de praia #1

Hello beauties!  Hope you having great weekend!
I spending my weekend out of town at my boyfriend's parents house. And finally i manage to catch some sun in the end of the day. It's been raining non stop the whole week and unusually cold for summer here! Staying in the city made me miss the sun and beach very much! And that's sound strange for Brazil)

I remembered the wonderful time we had in Bahia and decided to make a few posts about beach fashion. I hope sunny days wil come back here soon;)

Some tips about how to Dress for the Beach
It doesn't take much preparation to have a fun day at the beach, but one of the most important things to consider is how to dress. Because you'll be exposed to water and direct sunlight all day, you'll need to dress accordingly.
1. Do your hair up. A ponytail or bun looks nice and you get a good tan.
2. Bring a canvas bag instead of a fancy purse. They look good, and it wont mater as much if they get wet and dirty. Also depending on the beach in Brazil you don't want to leave a fancy bag behind while you are swimming! It may not be there when you come back.
3. Wear comfy shoes, that are easy to take on and off. Flip flops are good. Brazilian havaianas are the best, verified!
4. Don' forget a hat to protect your hair and eyes from the sun. And it's always look beautiful and complete your beach look.
5. Bring along a change of clothes for the end of the day. You won't want to have to ride back home from the beach in wet bathing suit.
6. Bring a large shirt, ideally a long-sleeved shirt, to help protect your skin from the harmful effects of the sun. Even if you plan to spend a good deal of the time in the water, you should bring along a shirt to wear while you're on the beach. Dress in white instead of black to keep your clothes from absorbing heat while you're in the sun.

Bellow some photos from a beautiful day in Itaparica island in Bahia.
I'm wearing pants that i bought in Liquido. Love this store, it's not very expensive and i always  find nice bikinis there. These pans are perfect for the beach. They're very light and with cut's on the sides; you can sunbathe without removing them;)

Dreamy, delicate, floral & feminine.

Just did a little experiment with my nails. I love this fresh mint color, especially now that it is in trend. The spring-summer 2012 fashion trend is all about bringing back femininity, with florals, tulle and organza. Pastels are also very popular, with a lot of baby pinks, blues and yellows in different fabrics. Fashion will be airy, frilly and feminine next season.

I hope you find this inspiring, and get some fresh ideas:)

Happy 2012!

Happy New Year dear friends!
I hope this New Year  brings with it new goals and opportunities to explore, joy, happiness and health. Here are a few pictures of our Brazilian New Year.  As some of you might know, Brazilians have a tradition of wearing white, but there are plenty of colors in the flowers and fireworks:)

I love Brazilian New Year traditions; Besides wearing white, everybody throughs flowers in the ocean for Iemanja, the Godess of the Seas in the Afro-Brazilian local culture. We also made a huge fire to burn all our old traits and feelings we don't want to take into the next year.  For those who came from Sao Paulo and Rio, we also have the tradition of jumping 7 waves for good luck.
My outfit for the night

I hope you had wonderful celebration with the close friends and family. And wish you all the best in 2012!

Christmas at the beach

Hello Dears!
Here are some photos from our the Christmas dinner. This year we had two Christmas parties; a small pre-Christmas party in Sao Paulo as I mentioned in my last post, and a huge "oficial" Christmas dinner with the family in an island off Salvador - Bahia.

The family in Bahia has a tradition were everyone has to wear either, white, red or green.  As you can see my clothes was green and white, so I completed the Christmas look with a red lipstick!

Huge dinner table for 60 people;  That is a lot of relatives to meet!

I hope you had wonderful and warm Christmas!
Best wishes!
Love,
Lana
